“Hey, dude, I wanted to wait, but I couldn’t. It was too funny. But you called me on accident while you were…” He let his words trail off, but I knew what he was getting at.

I laughed. “My bad, man. That was my fiancé.”

“I figured,” he said while laughing.

Eric was a hacker. And not just any hacker, he was the best hacker in NYC, and probably in the world. He used to work for the CIA, but was fired when he made unauthorized transfers from the CIA’s bank account into his. He said for all of the work he did, he deserved more than what they paid him. But they didn’t pay him like they paid the others because of his refusal to take off his infamous black hoodie. And he also refused to remove his piercings and tattoos. Eric was one of those gothic dudes who wore all black and listened to hard metal music. I didn’t understand him, but I wasn’t trying to. I paid him well to do jobs for me, and that’s all we needed from each other.

“So, did you ever speak with the others?” I asked him.

For months, Eric had been enlightening me on the government and how they work. He was also helping me to stay two steps ahead of them. This dude was so cold, he could shut the whole NYC down if he wanted to. He could fuck with the red lights, the videos on the buildings in Times Square… everything. But my goal was to stay under the radar for now.

“Yes, I spoke with Lavish. Luckily, she still works on the inside and is willing to help.”

He told me that he would get in touch with a close friend who could also be an asset to my movement. I was simply building a team at the moment.

“And what’s she charging me?” I asked as I put my feet up. I knew she, nor anyone, would be doing this illegal job for free.

“For each job that she does, she’s only charging half of what I charge. And that’s because the CIA already pays her well, and she doesn’t want to be greedy. We can set up a meeting for in the morning. But we would have to meet at a discreet place.”

“Not in the morning. Maybe in the evening?” I asked.

Diamond needed to go to a doctor immediately to get her started in prenatal care.

“See, Lourdy, the way the government works, they watch threats at all times. You are currently a threat. But, they are most likely going to watch you when they see you making most of your moves. Usually, you are busy from 5 a.m ’til sun down, and they know that. So, when I say morning, I’m thinking like 3 a.m in a closed in parking garage.”

“Ahh, I understand. So how about 3 a.m in a project building somewhere in Brookly?. And I wear a hoody?”

  “Perfect. Which ones?” he asked.

“Marcy. And did you ever fix my phone? And my fiancés phone?” I asked.

I paid him to make my wires undetectable. Meaning, it would be impossible for them to place wire taps on my phone or be able to track me.

“Yes. As a matter of fact, I fixed your phone and everyone’s phone that I found on your call log: your family in Haiti, Kasha, your brother that lives in Brooklyn, Yazz and his fiancé. I got ya covered.”

“That’s why I pay you so swell.”

“Oh, and the cameras in your building and the ones on your street are set an hour behind as of two minutes ago. I will change them back when our meeting is over. Not saying they know exactly where you live. Just in case.”

“Thanks, Eric. I will see you and Lavish at 3 a.m in Marcy projects.”

  Chapter Three

  Red

“What do you mean Frizzy is coming here?” I asked as we got into the back of our cab. We had just left Haiti from seeing Yazz’s family and was now back in NYC and leaving the airport.

“You can hear,” he said as he shut the door and told the driver where to go.

I was now confused. Let him tell it, Frizzy couldn’t come here because she was crazy. Now, all of a sudden she was visiting? Fuck that.

“But whats the reason?” I asked with my arms folded. “Didn’t you see her when we went to Haiti?” I asked.

“Yeah, and that’s why she’s coming.”

“Why, Yazz?” I asked with an attitude as the driver pulled off. Yazz was on his phone texting.

“Damn, Red, because she missed me, and I miss her. Why you mad? Thought you stressed how this was only a paid marriage. Don’t you have your little boyfriends too?” he asked.

“That was two months ago, and that’s not the point.”

“You tripping. For real,” he said as he shook his head.

For the past two months, things have been going really good between us, and we only seemed to get closer with no problems. The sex was still amazing, and we had a great understanding. But him telling me that Frizzy was coming pulled some type of emotion out of me.

“Tell her she cant come,” I said.

He looked at me and smirked. “Yeah, right.”

“Tell her!” I yelled. The cab driver looked at me through the rearview. When I looked up at him, he looked away. Yazz was still paying me no mind.

“You need to calm down,” he said, still not looking at me.

Hell, I don’t know why I was so mad. This was not about to happen, though. Fuck he thought this was?

“How long she staying?” I asked.

  “Just for a few months.”

  “Where?” I asked.

  “At my condo. Where else?”

“What? But you’ve been letting me stay there,” I said with my brows sunk low.

“I’m tripped out at how you’re acting. You’re the one that told me not to get too attached,” he said.

He was right. I sat there and watched him blow my feelings to the side like I was nothing. I huffed and puffed until I turned more red.

  “I wasn’t in love then!” I yelled.

  Chapter Four

  Yazz

“You’re in love?” I asked. This was all news to me. She didn’t respond. All she did was fold her arms and look out the window. “Answer me, Red.”

“Just forget about it. This is business. Remember?”

  “Are you crying?”

She laughed lightly. “No,” she lied. I saw the tear roll, but she wiped it before it could fall.

My mission was almost accomplished. I wanted to break her. I wanted her to need me. If she wasn’t at her weakest core when it came to me, then I still had work to do. I found great pleasure in tearing Red apart. The way she acted like she didn’t need anybody and how I was just nothing made me want to break her down even more. Now it was starting to turn on her. She was now feeling some type of way; the way she had me feeling at first.

The whole ride to my place was silent. She didn’t even look my way.

As we neared my place, my phone began to ring. It was Frizzy. “Yes, ma’am,” I said.

“Hey, when are you going to pay for my flight?”

  “Today.”

“And when should I expect to be there?” she asked.

  “Next week.”

“I’m so ready, my love. I missed you so much.”

“I missed you too,” I said but I tried to whisper it.

“Tuh,” Red said as she shook her head.

  “Who’s that?” Frizzy asked.

“No one. Let me call you back.”

  “Okay, I love you.”

“I love you too,” I said and then hung up.

“You just ain’t shit,” Red said as we pulled in front of my place.

“Get out,” I said as I stood there and noticed that she didn’t moved.

“Nah, I will go home from here.”

I took a deep breath and ran my hand through my locs. I didn’t have time for this shit. “I will take you home.”

  “Nah.”

“Red, get the fuck out of the car, and I will not say it again!” I yelled.

She quickly grabbed her bags and got out. I paid the driver as she stormed in to the building.

“Good luck with that,” the driver said.

“Who you telling? She’s a handful,” I said as I shut the door and walked inside.

&nb
sp; When I got up to my floor, she was already inside. She had a key, and it was about to get revoked from her childish ass.

“So, what? I’m supposed to be your side bitch while she’s here like I was when we were in Haiti?” Red asked as she sat on the couch.

“I’m not understanding what’s this is all about, Red.”

“Everything has been good without her, that’s what I’m saying. Like… are you bored with me?” she asked.

“It’s the baby that got you acting like a damned maniac,” I said as I popped open the fridge just to find nothing to eat.

Red and I had been fucking since we first signed our contracts, and she got pregnant right away. She was about three months and rocking my damn nerves. Now I was starting to see why Brewster told us no sex. But I wasn’t done. I wanted to make her eat them words that she uttered when we first met. Told me not to catch feelings and fuck her money up. Also told me how much she didn’t need a man’s love… just money. We would surely see.

“No, it’s not. It’s you acting like I don’t matter!” She was now standing up and walking toward the bathroom.

I followed her and laughed silently. By the end of this marriage, she would surely know who not to fuck with. And that’s me.

“Come here,” I said as I grabbed her by the neck and bent her over the sink.

I then put my hands under her dress and ripped her panties off. As I prepared to spit on my hand, I noticed that she was already wet. It was true what they said about pregnant women having the best pussy.

“No,” she moaned but didn’t stop me.

“This is my pussy and don’t you ever forget that,” I said as I slid my dick inside of her and watched her face in the mirror.

Her red hair was all over her head as she bit down on her arm. I made sure not to make love to her this time. She needed to feel where I was coming from. I ripped through her like a beast as I watched her frown her face in pain. And I liked it.

See, Gee was the one who wanted a queen and shit. I wanted a servant, especially if I was taking care of her. Now, she would be the mother of my child, and she would never again walk around like I’m a nobody…nlike she doesn’t need me.

  “Ahhhh, fuck! Yaaaaaazzz!”

“Tell me you need me,” I grunted as I slapped her ass. She didn’t say anything. Putting my hand around her neck, I roared it again. “Tell me you need me!”

“I… need you. I need… you! Ahh, fuck, I need you… so bad!” she moaned.

I wasn’t satisfied. I wanted to fuck her like no one had ever done before; digging out every doubt she ever had about needing me.

“Yeah, I know.” I pounded her harder and harder until my dreads started swinging and sweat began to drip from my hands.

“I… love you. I love you,” she moaned.

  “Don’t lie to me.”

I was about to cum, so I sped up the pace. Red didn’t love me. She was pregnant and her emotions were all over the place. But I would make her love me, and that was for damn sure.

  Chapter Five

  Diamond

“You look like shit,” I said to Red as she walked into our place and set her bags down.

It was late as hell, and she looked like she had just came from riding motorcycles through the city. Her hair was no longer in braids. She had some Brazilian hair put in that was long and straight. Now it was a puffy mess. I couldn’t believe she was walking around looking like that.

“Whatever.” She walked right past the couch, where I was lying down with Rena, and to her room.

I put Rena in my bed and went to Red’s room.

  “I’m pregnant,” I said.

“Y’all had sex?” Red asked in amusement.

I had never spoke of what happened between Gee and I because it never happened again until today. And I was starting to feel played.

“Yeah, a little bit. Well, just once to get me pregnant.”

“So, whats wrong? You look sad.”

I sat on her bed and watched her unpack. “I am sad. We ain’t nothing like you and Yazz,” I said.

She smirked. “Trust me. Y’all don’t wanna be like us. That nigga been tripping lately.”

  “Like how?” I asked.

“So, how’s Ms. Livingston doing?” Red asked, changing the subject.

“She’s good. Told me how Davinchi keeps sending people over there looking for me.”

“Maybe you should go and see him.”

  “But why?”

“He’s locked up. What’s the worst that could happen?

“But I don’t want him to get any ideas. You know? And I hope he don’t think I’m about to put no money on his books.”

She laughed. “I think you should see what he wants. Maybe its important if he keeps asking for you.”

“Maybe you’re right,” I said with a lot on my mind. Maybe it was important.

As a matter of fact, after Gee took me to the doctor, I would be sure to go and see what he needed.

  Chapter Six

  Gee

  3 a.m

Being that my brother, Emo, was from these parts, I knew my way around the hood fairly well. It was hot as hell on the staircase and it smelled like piss and shit. Junkies kept asking me was I the dope man. I just ignored them and waited on our designated staircase as the lights flickered on and off.

“There he is,” I heard Eric say.

I looked up and saw him walking up the stairs with someone in a hoodie. I was used to him wearing one.

“You must be Lourdy. I’m Lavish,” the woman said as she slowly wiped her hoodie away from her head and extended her hand to me.

“Yes, that’s me. But just call me Gee,” I said as I shook her hand also.

“Lavish was telling me how much she could be an asset to the team,” Eric said as he took out a joint and lit it. He leaned against the railing and gave Lavish a head nod to talk.

“Well, I basically can do some of the things that Eric does, but, as you know, I still work for the C.I.A.”

“I know that much,” I said.

“But that’s not all. I also work on your case.”

“What? I have a case with the fucking CIA?” I asked.

I don’t know why I was shocked. Hell, I honestly didn’t even know what it meant. I just knew it was bad. Never would I have thought that bringing health foods into the U.S. at an affordable price, would be so much of a hassle.

“Yes, but I’m sure to help and I want you to know that you can indeed trust me,” she said.

“So why are you so willing to help?” I asked.

Before answering, she took a deep breath. And then she lifted her bra, showing me her breasts that were no longer there. “My grandfather was a top agent when I was a child, but they killed him. They killed him because he found out some information that he wasn’t supposed to.”

“How did your breasts come up missing?”

“They sent a robot into his home the summer that I was visiting. He knew that sooner or later they would come for him, that’s why he moved into a new house in Washington. But they found him. It just so happened to be the day that I was visiting. When he saw the robot on the cameras, he hurried and snuck me out the back door. He told me to run into the woods and run until I couldn’t run anymore. But it was too late.

“I was a few feet away from the house when the bomb detonated. It was weird. I heard a loud explosion and turned around, but the house didn’t blow up until seconds after the noise. It was a distraction. After the bomb went off for real, the house blew up and the force threw me seven feet away. Metal ended up flying my way and going into my chest. But, I got up and ran and ran until I got to a safe house that my grandfather had a few blocks over. There, I called my mother. I had to wait in that house for three days until she got to me. By the time she got to me, I had an infection and had to get my tiny breasts removed.

“My grandfather was killed. On the news, they called it a house fire. No one ever knew that our own government had killed an
innocent man because of the way they covered it up. So, I made it my business to work my way into the system and fuck them over any way that I could. And then here comes Eric with a job for me.”

“I’m so sorry to hear that,” I said.

“Don’t be sorry for me. I’m alive and well, doing what I set out to do.”

“So what do you know about my case?” I asked.

“Everything. They are currently searching for your place of residence. Thanks to Eric, they don’t know. But they do know everything about your lawyer and his place of residence. He needs to move into a new home as soon as possible.”

“Fuck! Cant believe I forgot to cross his wires too,” Eric said, throwing his joint to the ground and stepping on it.

“It’s fine. This is an easy fix,” I said to him, then turned my attention back to Lavish. “Do they know anything about my fiancé?” I asked her.

“Yes, they know that you are planning to get married and they know why. The only reason they knew how your beautiful fiancé looks is because they have people watching that building that you two to go to see Lacey. We can’t cross wires there, then it would be plain obvious as to what we were doing. But I have a plan,” she said.

  “And what’s that?”

“Lacey has to report everything that you all discuss. So report to her that you no longer want to bring affordable health foods into the U.S.”

  “That’s no problem. I don’t know why I didn’t think of that.”

“Also, I have created a file that shows a false source of income so they can’t hit you with illegal drug charges, I don’t know if you do or not, just saying I got you covered. You’re way ahead of them.”

“So when I do bring my foods into the U.S., how will we cover that?”

She paused and looked at Eric.

“Being that it will be hard to hide it, because it will be a huge deal and the media will be all over, we will figure something out. But for now, we’re working day and night to make sure that you’re covered up until that point,” Eric said.
